“26TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE ITALIAN SOCIETY OF GENERAL MEDICINE” : PERSONALIZATION AND INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO HEALTHCARE

“26TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE ITALIAN SOCIETY OF GENERAL MEDICINE” FLORENCE, 26-28 NOVEMBER 2009 PERSONALIZATION AND INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO HEALTHCARE More than 1.500 GPs and 300 speakers liven up an intense debate about the role of the General Practitioner and, generally speaking, its central function within the public health management. Thematic sessions were dedicated to the various pathologies, mainly to the ones with a big social impact. The deep link with Florence and the care for art and culture were reconfirmed this year as well: the delegates and the speakers had the special chance to enjoy a private guided visit of the Bargello National Museum, open just for them.

LARGE ATTENDANCE AT THE “56TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE ITALIAN SOCIETY OF RHEUMATOLOGY

“56TH NATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE ITALIAN SOCIETY OF RHEUMATOLOGY (SIR)” – RIMINI, 4-7 NOVEMBER 2009 LARGE ATTENDANCE AT THE MEETING ORGANISED BY AIM GROUP 1.400 delegates and 180 speakers, the outstanding Italian experts in rheumatology, met at the Rimini Palacongressi to focus on the pathologies and the last development of clinical research and therapies. Medical doctors coming from the Italian regions but also nurses and physiotherapists, which are fundamental in the treatment of these invalidating pathologies, animated a rich and interesting meeting. A specific Symposium involved the ANMAR, the national association of the rheumatic patients, which, for over twenty years, has made a wide dissemination of the matter among the public opinion and the institutions.

10TH CONGRESS OF THE “INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF INFECTION CONTROL”- VILNIUS (LITHUANIA) 8-10 OF OCTOBER 2009

Four hundred delegates, coming from about twenty countries, had the opportunity to share their experience in Vilnius, at the Reval Hotel Lietuva. While the planet is concerned about H1N1 pandemic disease, the fifty speakers, coming from a large number of countries (Europe, but also USA, Canada, Australia, Egypt and Thailand) discussed the status on respiratory infections, antibiotic policies, safe childbirth and hygiene in general. Many pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies, sponsors and exhibitors, gave a helpful contribution to the congress that has been carefully organized by AIM Baltic In the Baltic countries and in the former soviet block countries, there is a keen demand of scientific education and the international Scientific Associations try to meet this demand considering these countries as possible locations of the congresses and of educational programmes, in order to reduce the existing gap.
