GENERAL INFORMATION


For further information regarding availability, bookings and ticket purchase for MILAN (ITALY), foreign delegates may contact their nearest Alitalia Office (see the addresses and the phone numbers on Alitalia Internet WEB Site: www.alitalia.com).
When calling Alitalia, please quote Identification Code "KD". Delegates originating from the United States may contact their nearest ALITALIA Office or call the toll-free number 1-800-223-5730 to reserve flights and receive tickets by mail directly to their address, quoting their "KD" Identification Code and credit card number to charge the corresponding amount. All visitors will benefit of a special discount on available fares.

 

Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception

The official Opening Ceremony of the Congress takes place on Friday, June 13 at the Ground Floor of the Congress Venue (Fiera Milano Congressi Center - Pavilion 17).
Prof. G. Mancia, Chairman of the "Thirteenth European Meeting on
Hypertension" and Prof. J.L. Rodicio, Chairman of the European Society of Hypertension, welcome the participants.
After the Opening Ceremony, participants are invited to attend the Welcome
Reception which takes place in the Ground Floor of the Congress Venue (Fiera Milano Congressi Center - Pavilion 17).
During the Reception food and drinks are served: an excellent opportunity for
delegates to renew friendships and meet new colleagues. 
Access to the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception is included in the
registration fee.

The pre-registration and on-site registration desk will be open during the following hours:

For individuals

On-site individual registrations - Credit cards on-line

On site it is possible to register individually on-line by using one’s credit card.
A special desk equipped with PC is available for this purpose in the Secretariat premises.
If you wish to register by this way, please follow carefully the instructions listed here-below:

• Print the page with your personal data
• Follow all the steps requested until you are given your ID code and password and print this page
• Press the botton "on-line registration"
• Insert your credit card details on the secure mode "verisign and SSB"
• Address to the on-site registration desk to collect your badge and scientific material.

Badges
Name badges are used as passes. All participants and official guests are kindly requested to wear their name badge during Congress activities and social events. It admits to the scientific sessions, exhibition area, coffee breaks and snack lunches.
Accompanying persons are not entitled to attend Sessions.
Lost badges are replaced against the payment of a handling fee of e 50,00
(VAT 20% included) and upon proof of original registration.
Congress badges are distinguished as follows:
Participants: transparent
Faculty: red
Exhibitors: blue
Press: black

Coffee Breaks and Lunches
During the Meeting session breaks and poster sessions, refreshments and snack lunches will be served free of charge to participants wearing congress badges in the following areas of the Congress Venue:

coffee breaks:
from 10.30 to 11.00 hrs. Ground Floor (Poster area) and Level 2
snack lunches:
from 13.00 to 15.30 hrs. Ground Floor.

Public Transport Tickets
A limited number of public transport tickets (which will be valid on trams, buses and subway trains in Milan from June 14 to 17, 2003) will be available at the Registration Desk.

Parking
The parking in Via Porta Carlo Magno has been reserved to enable buses to pick up and drop off participants according to the following hours:

Shuttle bus
A free shuttle bus service from the underground stop Amendola Fiera to the FieraMilano Congressi Center will be available during the Congress. The shuttle bus will be offered from the Congress.


For all your shipments everywhere in the world, DHL express will be present as official courier of the ESH 2003 Congress on June 13, 16, 17 in the Exhibition Area premises.

Taxi Point
Participants could address their request for taxi to the Taxi Point located in the Secretariat Area.

Message Centre
A message centre will be at the participants disposal and located at the Secretariat Desk. Participants could address there to leave or collect their message.

Bank
A bank will be at the participants disposal on June 14, 15, 16 and 17 from 9.00 to 17.00 hrs.
It will be located at the Ground Floor of the FieraMilano Congressi Center.

Cloakroom
A cloakroom will be at the disposal of all participants at their charge. 
Delegates are kindly requested not to leave their personal belongings after the closing-time.

Bar
A bar located in the Exhibition Area will be at the disposal of the participants at their charge.

Language
The official language of the Meeting is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

 

Visa Requirements
Participants requiring a visa for entry to Italy may request assistance
to the Organizing Secretariat. 
The Congress Secretariat will send
out an official letter of invitation upon request to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries. This invitation will not imply any obligation from the Organization to provide any kind of financial contribution.
Requests should be made by fax or e-mail and should include the participant’s full mailing address, fax number and/or e-mail address.

Insurance
Congress organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries or for loss of or damage to property belonging to congress participants, either during or as a result of the congress. Please check the validity of your own insurance.

Exhibition and Sponsoring
An exhibition of pharmaceutical, technical and research products will take place in the Congress venue throughout the Meeting.

The programme information published within this Preliminary Programme is correct at the time of going to press. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to alter the programme at any time.
