AWARDS


 

Björn Folkow
Award and Lecture

The Björn Folkow Award has been established in 1987 by the ESH with the generous collaboration of AstraZeneca in recognition of the contribution made by Björn Folkow to cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology. 
The Award is given to a person or persons who have carried out important original research that has contributed to understanding the pathogenesis of hypertension.
The Awardee delivers a lecture in the Plenary Session of June 15.

 

Alberto Zanchetti
Life Achievement Award

The Award was established by ESH in 1995 to honour a scientist with a lifelong high quality scientific research in the field of hypertension.
It is presented to the recipient in the Plenary Session of June 15.

 

Honorary Membership

Honorary membership is given to a scientist who has made extraordinary contributions to research in hypertension or who has given exceptionally important support to the activities of ESH.
It is presented to the recipient in the Plenary Session of June 15.

 

European Investigators'
Travel Grants

The European Society of Hypertension has provided a hundred Travel Grants for Young European Investigators, with limited financial resources, whose abstracts have been selected for either oral or poster presentation.
Priority will be given to those Young Investigators, 35 years of age or under, with first authorship of an accepted abstract.

The Travel Grant fee is € 570.

Those receiving Travel Grants will not be exempted from paying the registation fee. Travel Grants can be collected at the "on-site registrations" desk in the secretariat area.

 

European Investigators'
Accommodation Grants

The European Society of Hypertension has also provided about seventy Accommodation Grants to those participants with limited financial resources, whose abstracts have been selected for either oral or poster presentation. 
Priority will be given to those participants with first authorship of an accepted abstract.

The Accommodation Grant will cover the following expenses:
– Registration fee 
– Hotel Accommodation at the Ibis Milano Centro Hotel (Via F. Aprile 2) in a
   single room, for a maximum of 4 nights stay.

The Accommodation Grant does not cover travel expenses.

The same participant cannot have both travel and accommodation grants.
One grant excludes the other.
