General Information

Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception
All delegates are cordially invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Congress wich will be held on Friday, June 15, 2001, at 17.45 hrs. at the University of Milan Great Courtyard.
At the end of the Opening Ceremony, a Welcome Concert and Reception will be held.

Secretariat and Registration Desk
The pre-registration and on-site registration desk will open at the following hours:

For groups:

• Thursday, June 14
15.00-18.00 hrs.

• Friday, June 15
09.00-12.00 hrs.

For individuals:

• Friday, June 15
14.00-18.00 hrs.

• Saturday, June 16
07.30-18.00 hrs.

• Sunday, June 17
07.30-18.00 hrs.

• Monday, June 18
07.30-18.00 hrs.

Registration for groups will only be available upon written request made to the Organizing Secretariat.

Name Changes
After May 15, 2001, sponsors who wish to make name changes will be charged a handling fee of Euro 36 (VAT 20% included) per name change. A new registrtion form for each replacement participant will be required before the name change can be processed. individuals may make name changes only in exceptional cases. Written permission from the original participant will be required in order to process an individual name change.
After June 5, 2001, name changes and new registrations will have to be made on site.

Admission
Participants are kindly requested to wear their badge during all congress activities and social events. It will admit to the scientific sessions, exhibition area, coffee-breaks and lunches.
Lost badges will only be replaced against the payment of a handling fee of Euro 50 (VAT 20% included) and upon proof of original registration.

Coffee Breaks and Snack Lunches
During the Meeting session breaks and poster sessions, refreshments and lunch will be served free of charge to participants wearing congress badges.

Language
The official language of the Meeting is English. Simultaneous translations will not be provided.

Visa Requirements
Participants requiring a visa for entry to Italy may request assistance to the Organizing Secretariat.
The Congress Secretariat will send out an official letter of invitation upon request to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries, but this invitation will not imply any obligation from the Organization to assume any financial burden.
Requests should be made by fax and should include the participant's full mailing address and fax number.

Insurance
The Congress Organizers cannot accept liability for personal injuries sustained, or for loss of, or damage to, property belonging to congress participants, either during or as a result of the congress. Please check the validity of your own insurance.

Exhibition and Sponsoring
An exhibition of pharmaceuticals, technical and research products will be organized for companies sponsoring Satellite Symposia.

Programme changes
All the programme information published within this Preliminary Programme is correct at the time of going to press. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to alter the programme at any time.

Delegates are kindly requested not to smoke in the Meeting area.
